The Power of Parents is a research and evidence based underage substance abuse prevention program designed to equip parents and caring adults with the tools and resources to have effective conversations with the youth in their lives about the dangers of underage substance use. MADD is the nation’s largest nonprofit working to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support the victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage substance use.

Reconstructing Environmental (In)Justice with Dr. Tianna Bruno
Environmental injustice refers to the uneven distribution of environmental benefits and burdens based primarily on race, but also other marginalizing factors such as income and gender. In this conversation, Dr. Bruno describes how this phenomenon spans across Texas and its history, with a focus on Port Arthur, Texas, where the largest petrochemical refinery in the Northern Hemisphere is nestled within a Black community. Dr. Bruno also explains the importance of integrating social science and environmental reconstruction methods to assess environmental injustice over time.
